Dear Backers,

I would like to introduce you to my color time concept. With the help of this campaign I want to make my small brand more independent from big productions & the pressure behind it. I have therefore designed a new series, with the help of new suppliers from Germany and the establishment of a new watchmaker workshop in Bermoll.

Thanks to all of you, who support the mission made in Bermoll/Germany.

How it works

TIAN teaches a new way of reading a watch, based on 12 colors where each full color equals one full hour, every line 15 minutes.

TIAN is an independent watch manufacturer from Bermoll/Germany, founded in 2019. The idea behind Tian is based on a concept of slowing down from the 70´s. An old watch from my father was the starting point for a reinterpretation of an idea that is even more important today, than it was back then.

It took almost 2 years to implement the made in Germany project. The biggest challenge was to find local partners who share the same enthusiasm and are willing to start with smaller quantities. Today I am very proud to announce that after hundreds of emails and phone calls, a great network of companies has emerged to accompany the journey.

For me, Bermoll is a very special place that could hardly embody slowing down any better. When I started my own business, I moved back to my hometown with my girlfriend at the time, now wife and mother of my daughter Betty. Today, as a family, I can’t imagine a better place. Surrounded by family, friends and nature.

The founder of the color concept from the 70´s was Kristian “Tian” Harlan, the reason for naming my brand Tian. My father also plays a major role in this story so you will find a tribute to him on the logo of each product.

The two hour discs between the letters show two different times. The upper one points to 6 o’clock, the lower one to 2 o’clock. My father was born in 1962 and the one, that introduced me to this amazing color concept.

Collection – Watches

All watches feature a 316L stainless steel case, Swiss Ronda movement and saphire glass with AR coating on the inside.

The cases are sandblasted and afterwards PVD coated to create a matte finish. The buckles are coated in the same way as the cases.

This series is available in three different case finishes: Anthracite, brass and silver.

Assembled in Bermoll, Germany.

All watch straps are handmade by a small manufacturer in the south of Germany and are finished with a TIAN embossing on the back. The materials are selected with the utmost care and have been tested for harmful substances.

Below you will find information about the individual watch straps – starting from the left:

Option 1: Cowhide – vegetable tanned leather in cognac
Option 2: Embossed cowhide leather in burgundy
Option 3: Sued leather in green
Option 4: Sued leather in beige
Option 5: Vegan option – from the remnants of wine production in brown

Collection – Wall clocks

The wall clock series will feature a stainless steel case, arched glass, aluminium clock hand and a silent german movement from Hermle. You can choose between two powder coated cases. The brown case has a more grainy coating compared to the green one which is more shiny. The green case has a more even surface and the coating looks more matte in color. Both options will be delivered with a removable desk stand.
