Story
YES! We’re back! After 6 successful Kickstarter campaigns Crowd Cookware proudly presents:
In 4 years we have launched 6 successful Kickstarter campaigns, creating chef-grade cookware together with our 22,000 backers worldwide. With this campaign, we take a new step in one of the hottest debates within our community and cookware industry.
Ever since our very first campaign, we have been talking with our community about cooking with or without non-stick coatings. Non-stick coatings have become a standard in cookware, for their ease of use. But are they sustainable? Or healthy?
Titanium is a pure and safe material, but costly. However, by doing this together, we can still offer the Naked pan for a fair price. And twice as affordable as other titanium pans.
Crowd Cookware evolved into a worldwide community of kitchen enthusiasts creating their own chef-grade cookware for a fair price.
Thanks to frequent feedback moments and surveys, we come up with new products together, such as the Buccaneer pans, the Wigbold knife set and now the Naked pan.
Creating cookware with our crowd is all about translating feedback into new products, actual changes to the final designs such as pan sizes and even the name of the product. We believe this is the only way to create great cookware together. We only produce what you want us to produce. You’ve talked, we’ve listened.
Our Naked pan is made with craftsmanship, attention to detail and is of the highest quality.
The Naked pan has an inner layer entirely made of titanium. A truly pure, non-corrosive, non-toxic, incredibly durable material. It’s the most biocompatible metal there is; so safe that surgeons even use it within the human body. Despite this, we still advise you not to eat your Naked Pan. 😉
Pure cooking for us also means that no energy is lost. Our 5-ply technique requires minimal heating for optimal heat distribution, making the Naked pan an energy-efficient and more sustainable option. Even more so, because the aluminum used for the inner 3 layers, is made from recycled soda cans among other things!
Chefs often comment cooking without coatings is ‘the real deal’. It takes a little more time, but it challenges you to really cook, to keep your attention and to go back to the real thing. To cook without the training wheels on. The directness of the non-coated surface will give you immediate feedback on your cooking skills.
The best tip from our test backer Ben: “Main thing you’ve got to learn when you move from non-stick to uncoated is patience. With an uncoated pan, what you really need to do is; let the pan heat up before adding the oil and wait till it’s hot before the food goes in. Let it come up to the heat, put the oil in, wait for that to heat up and put the food in”.
Our captain Tacco went back to the drawing board. All the way back to our first Blackbeard prototype, redesigning it with all the feedback of the crowd over the past years.
Guess what? The Tricorne lid built from Stainless Steel made it and our coolest handle made the cut as well. (Especially since our community rates it a 10+ time and again. 😉 It’s made of full cast stainless steel, riveted and optimized for the best grip.
