Started in MIT as part of the DesignX program, Out Of The Box (patent pending) is an all-in-one learn and play system for children ages 2 to 6+. It grows with the child to provide endless meaningful learning and playing experiences. Anywhere.

For children, learning takes place anywhere – every interaction is an opportunity to learn. Out Of The Box transforms any available space into a learning and playing environment, allowing children to learn and play meaningfully anywhere. Use it for enrichment, homeschooling, supplement, family bonding, fun and games, or anything else!

Modular System With Multiple Configurations

Like furniture, but unlike any furniture. To facilitate different modes of learning and playing, Out Of The Box is designed to be modular and mobile. The components can be used in many different ways, allowing children to explore, learn and play the way they do it best.

Unlock Different Levels of Learning & Play

The interchangeable lids are developed to support different learning and playing activities. For example, the Muffin Lid helps with numeracy games, while the Lightbox Lid promotes creative exploration and aesthetic expression. The Learning and Playboard Lid is expandable, allowing unlimited possibilities with different boards.

The Lids can be placed on the main box, or directly on the table/bench. Likewise, the various Learning and Play Boards can be placed on the lid, or directly on top of the table or bench.

We believe that every child is unique, exploring the world in their own ways. With Out Of The Box, children can determine their own learning and playing modes. There is never a right or wrong way (or place) to learn or play.

Digital Platform With Growing Content Library

You also get access to our digital platform that contains a growing learning content library, with materials for different age groups, science, technology, engineering, arts, and mathematics (STEAM) subjects, targeting core development areas such as cognitive, numeracy and literacy skills.

The digital platform will be compatible with both computers/laptops as well as Apple and Android tablets. We also commit to keep some existing and new content free forever.

With Out Of The Box, you have access to a plethora of learning content, both digital and downloadable physical materials, including:

Independent: Exploratory activity or other learning content that the child can do independently

Create different child profiles on our digital platform, and let our artificial intelligence/machine learning powered backend generate a personalized learning journey for your child, with recommendations for learning and playing activities based on the child’s unique learning journey.

Provide feedback for every completed activity, and over time, the platform learns to recommend activities more suited to the child’s needs – generating better learning journeys.
