AllBoss, Carts with a Cause- The Next-Gen Lemonade Stand

September 13, 2024

AllBoss is a mobile storefront for kids to display & sell their own merchandise while learning valuable life and entrepreneurial skills

Story

AllBoss started as the dream of a nine-year-old boy named Tate. He created the first AllBoss cart, SnackBoss to sell snacks at his brother’s baseball games as a way to earn money for gaming equipment.

To everyone’s surprise, Tate’s SnackBoss business attracted a lot of attention and was a ballfield hitSnackBoss became a way for Tate to make new friends, engage with the community, and learn important life skills

The original SnackBoss cart was a modified wagon. Not only was it unsafe on hills, it was heavyunstable, a nightmare to transport and setup.  Tate and his mom spent hours merchandising and getting his SnackBoss cart together each time Tate used it. This was difficult to fit into a busy schedule already packed to the brim with work, school, homework, and sibling care

They did some research and saw that there was no out-of-the-box solution to help kids EASILY execute a business idea, benefit from learning entrepreneurship, and become a Boss. There were lemonade and craft stands but those also required, time, effort, and resources even moreso than Tate’s cart. AlsoTate did not like the idea of sitting still at a stand.

As SnackBoss, Tate acquired money managementsocial, and leadership skills. He developed confidence, independence, and embraced the business and ‘Boss’ title.

Tate’s AllBoss idea came at a time when he needed it the most. The 4th grade was a challenge and he was struggling both academically and socially. Being autistic and understanding what that meant for him added to the stress and confusion.  He wanted to fit in with his peers but struggled to build connections.

SnackBoss filled a gap for Tate and gave him confidence and improved his self-image in ways that school and extracurriculars could not.

AllBoss allowed Tate to be his authentic self and build relationships structured around things he was passionate about, snacks and video games.

Every week, Tate and his new friends got together and sold snacksate snacks, and had fun

Tate’s wish is that AllBoss ignites the creative and entrepreneurial spirit in kids, inspiring them to dream big and not just imagine a business but create it. By making this process EASY Tate hopes that more kids can now benefit from becoming a Boss like he did.

AllBoss makes small carts used to display and sell merchandise. The unique slanted design allows you to display merchandise and the cart becomes your own mobile storefront. The cart exterior (skin and canopy) is easily personalized to your business and that branding is interchangeable between cart owners and/or ideas. The cart is collapsible and easily transportable.

AllBoss has four pre-branded cart personalities to choose from. SnackBoss, DrinkBoss, ToyBoss and BeadBoss.

Alternatively, we have a BossBuilder where you can personalize a cart to your pre-existing brand. Either option allows you to create a professional looking mobile storefront.

Your AllBoss cart comes with a uniform. This consists of an apron and hat, also branded for your business. Additional uniforms are available to purchase.

The interior of the cart is also customizable. BossPacks includes everything you need for selling particular items. They come with the display stands setup with merchandise. All you need to do is open the box and set the stand and merchandise in the cart. You can order as many BossPacks as you want to sell a variety of things.

AllBoss solves the problem of how to get kids outdoors, off screens, engaged with their peers, their community and building skills. An AllBoss cart gives kids and preteens the feeling of business ownership. AllBoss carts look and feel professional. They are simple to use and easy to setup. They have logos, they are colorful, have distinct display designs, and come with uniforms.

One of the major problems for existing kid entrepreneurs is the time and effort that it takes to create and setup their business. Before AllBoss, it was taking co-founder Megan an hour minimum to help Tate setup his SnackBoss cart. Sadly, there were baseball games where Tate wanted to do SnackBoss but there just wasn’t enough time to get everything together between work, school, siblings, homework, etc. Yes, there are parents with the capacity to do this for their kids. However, there is a large untapped market of parents that are not thinking about this, their kids haven’t asked, or they just don’t have the time or capacity. All kids can benefit from learning about Entrepreneurship and AllBoss Carts want to get this on more parent’s radar by making the process incredibly easy for busy families to do. The carts come with everything you need out-of-the-box, they transport easily and setup can be done in less than five minutes.

Also, similar to co-founder Tate, not every kid finds their “niche” in school or in sports. Entrepreneurship can provide a much-needed boost in confidence and self-esteem by helping them make friends and build social networks.

AllBoss carts have an innovative design that is the first of its kind. The unique slanted front allows for improved viewing of cart contents. The rear compartment can hold a cooler or has a tabletop attachment where the underneath section is used for storage.

The front canvas compartment is also separated from the back compartment. This is done intentionally to eliminate the shifting of cart contents when in motion.

AllBoss carts are smaller than a beach wagon or garden wagon. This makes it easier for kids to manage the carts independently. They are also is lightweight and easy to collapse.  Portability is essential for busy families and they need to be able to quickly throw the cart in the trunk or in storage.

AllBoss carts can be setup in minutes. Lemonade stands require significant setup and teardown whereas an AllBoss cart can simply be rolled into place. Also, stands and booths require sitting or staying in a single place. AllBoss carts move, encourage walking, and can easily keep up with their busy bosses.

It was very important for the AllBoss cart to be sturdy and not topple over like a garden wagon. AllBoss carts also needed reliable breaks. The push bar and pull handle makes it much easier for two kids to maneuver the cart together, especially on difficult types of terrain like hills and in sand.

The canopy poles use color coding to help kids line up the bars. AllBoss also uses color coded Velcro to help kids line up the base skins. Our version 2 prototype used snaps but Co-founder Tate said that was too difficult for kids who struggle with fine motor skills.

All fabric components of the cart are made from durable UV-protected weatherproof fabric.

The fun colorful rims snap in and out of the wheel well allowing for quick style and color changes

What truly makes the AllBoss cart magical is its ability to be personalized. Everything is interchangeable, from the canopy skins, rims, inserts, to the branding. This lets a kid’s creativity soar as they try new and exciting business ideas with their AllBoss cart.

  • AlllBoss carts are collapsible, and transportable, so you would open it first.
  • You then put on the canopy and skin color you are using that day.
  • You affix your logo (this is done with velcro). Add the color rim inserts you are using.
  • Then you merchandise your cart by opening your BossPack and placing it’s contents directly within the cart.

For example, BeadBoss carts have bracelet display inserts. Determine the pricing for the items you are selling. Affix the pricing tags and QR codes for Venmo, CashApp, Zelle, etc. Get your starting drawer ready, typically $10 in small bills. Put on your hat and apron and grab your friends. Always bring an adult with you while selling for supervision.

Never sell in a public place without permission.
