Hi Kickstarter, it’s Creality! Last year, we globally released the mid-range “CR-Scan 01”, the first time bringing the industrial-grade 3D scanner into the market. It received warm welcomes and successfully won support from users. After perusal of the feedback, we know our fans love it.

To comprehensively enhance the user experience, our 3D scanner R&D team dedicates to optical technology research and strives for breakthroughs. That’s why we bring “CR-Scan Lizard” to Kickstarter this year. 

Just like its name “Lizard”, the scanner we bring can acutely capture the finest detail with a whopping accuracy of up to 0.05 mm. The use of invisible light sources of the near-infrared is protective to the eyes, and it has excellent light compatibility. High precision 3D scanner is usually high-priced, but CR-Scan Lizard will be affordable with friendly pricing, and we aim to introduce it to all of our people with real benefits.

Ultra-high accuracy, impressive experience. CR-Scan Lizard can scan small parts and prototypes with deep, hard-to-reach details. Designed with binoculars, CR-Scan Lizard is featured by its professional-grade accuracy of up to 0.05 mm realized by the improved precision calibration method. Its 3D point distance ranges from 0.1 mm to 0.2 mm and the minimum scanning size is 15 mm.

CR-Scan Lizard is a real time saver. The intelligent algorithm makes 3D scanning as easy as taking a video. No need to stick markers anymore, even for big parts like engine hood, car door, front or rear bumpers and so on. CR-Scan Lizard can acutely and comprehensively capture fine details of the target with the 3D model built up perfectly, successfully realizing no-marker scanning.

CR Studio developed with the integration of 3D complete automation algorithms enables model optimization within one click! It supports multi-positional auto-alignment, auto-noise removal, auto-model simplified topology, auto-hole filling, and auto-texture mapping, impressing users with ease of use. Friendly enough, even kids can handle it well.

Furthermore, CR Studio supports OTA online updates for free. Creality will check the software regularly and timely fix the anomalies. Besides, we will surprise users by continuously developing new functions and comprehensively improving the user experience.

“Blackness” or “brightness” is no longer challenging. CR-Scan Lizard can scan black objects, and it maintains excellent performance even in bright sunlight. This breakthrough relies on a high-precision binocular camera system with a self-developed multi-spectral optical system, vastly improving light adaptability, allowing CR-Scan Lizard to have more scanning targets. Even outdoor scanning becomes an easy job!

The design of different scanning modes aims to offer users the choice for mode switch and find out the most suitable one under various circumstances. CR-Scan Lizard can scan 15 mm – 1500 mm objects with three scanning modes: turntable scanning, handheld scanning, and handheld plus turntable scanning.

The turntable mode can automatically scan 15 mm to 300 mm objects, such as toy prototypes. It is quite easy to use.

The combination mode is perfect for scanning 300 mm to 500 mm objects, like shoes, vase, and sculpture, adding handheld flexibility to intelligent turntable scanning.

Moreover, the handheld mode, suitable for scanning objects of 500 mm to 1500mm, such as hood and furniture, provides users with enough freedom and creative possibilities.

Connect CR Studio with Creality Cloud, and the 3D model can be uploaded to the database (Creality Cloud) with slicing and printing completed with just one click, which is quite handy. The sharing function is also supported. If you want to make interactions and share the fun with friends, Creality Cloud will meet your need!

To meet the needs of VR, AR, 3D rendering, games, and color 3D printing which may be realized in the future, CR-Scan Lizard can pair with the color kit and supports the shooting of colorful textures with cell phones or DSLR cameras. After that, it will automatically map the colors to the models (no larger than 300 mm) with one click via the automation software to complete color restoration. The file will export in OBJ format. This function brings vivid 3D models and broadens CR-Scan Lizard’s application in various scenarios. It provides users with an option to be with color or not, and in the future, Creality will upgrade this function to be capable of more scanning sizes.

In addition to the direct plug and USB charging, CR-Scan Lizard is compatible with a portable charger (needs to purchase separately), enabling users to take it outdoors and capture wonderfulness anywhere, even in areas with no source of electricity. This function realizes true portability, improves scanning flexibility, and brings more possibilities for users.

We prioritize quality and attach importance to material selection. CR-Scan Lizard has used aviation-grade aluminum profiles when designing the plug, greatly enhancing the plug’s durability and stability and providing assurance for the machine’s good performance.
