Each FlossElf comes with a 3-month supply of replaceable flosser picks that are easy to use, sustainable, and PFAS-free. After every flossing session, simply remove the used picks, compost or recycle it, and snap on a new one. Our research shows that using FlossElf for one year reduced the overall plastic usage associated with flossing by 60%. Our flosser picks may be small, but that’s a big step to cutting down single-use plastic waste!

Most dental floss is made of synthetic wax-covered nylon, which is neither biodegradable nor recyclable and is a nightmare for the environment. We can’t outlaw disposable flosser picks or make families pay a high price for other solutions, but the FlossElf community decided it could do more.
Although we have already reduced the size of our replaceable floss picks, we’ve begun developing reusable ones to create even less waste. Although the design is finished, they’re still in the testing period, which is proving harder than we imagined.
